FRENCH MUSICAL AUTOMATON DIABOLO PLAYER. Perfect bisque head incised “DEP” with blue inset eyes and closed mouth. When wound music plays, she moves her head from side to side and as she moves her hands from side to side the metal teardrop shaped object moves on a string from one side to the other. Impressive large figure with good action. SIZE: Overall height (including music box) 21” (53 cm) (height of figure) 16-1/2” (41 cm). CONDITION: Covering of base original, braid trim possibly replaced. Figure has been well re-costumed. Bisque hands have had some restoration. Mechanism works well with strong music. 1-5004 RS (3,000-4,000)
