*DELUXE WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. Rare special-order deluxe rifle with 26” oct to round bbl, Lyman bead front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight that is a more recent replacement. Moderately figured wood with checkered forearm and checkered straight grip stock with crescent steel buttplate. SN 599107. CONDITION: Very good to fine, bbl retains 93-95% original blue, strong on the oct part, slightly thinned in the round area. The magazine tube retains 88-90% original blue with an area of roundpitting and some other scattered pinpoints of pitting. The receiver and takedown ring are flaked and retain 50-60% dark original blue with the balance a moderate patina. The lever retains 30-40% dark case colors and the hammer about 98% dark colors. The buttplate retains 75-80% blue with the balance medium patina. The stock has a repair at the toe otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of a professionally restored finish. Bright shiny bore with some scuffing in the grooves. 4-49096 JR47 (2,000-3,000)
