GIFFORD BEAL (American, 1879-1956) “PROVINCETOWN”. Oil on canvas town scene shows a street lined with homes and church at end of street. Two figures walk down street with large green tree. Signed lower right. Housed in an antique gesso decorated gold and silver wide frame. Back of stretcher has artist name and title. REFERENCE: For identical scene but larger size see Christie’s lot 222 December 1, 1989 sale. SIZE: 18” x 22”. CONDITION: The back of the canvas shows evidence of previous moisture and mold.
