GEORGE III INLAID SATINWOOD PEMBROKE TABLE. Last quarter of the 18th Century. Serpentine top with conforming base. Top has banded 1” edge with 1/2” light colored circles surrounding. Central inlay of light and dark 8” two handled urn medallion surrounded by a wreath of flowers in an oval rosewood background. Dark and light border inlay. Inlay medallion is 12” x 8-1/2”. Each leaf with similar border and having a 9” paterna oval inlay. Top has molded edge. A conforming frieze having book inlay at top of each leg. Single drawer with no brass, four tapered square legs terminating to brass cupped castor feet with dark wood applied molded ankles. Below ankles has feather decoration to corner edges. A very decorative and refined embellishment. As fine a table of this form that we have seen. SIZE: 26-1/2” h x 19” w (closed); 39” w (open) x 28” d.
