*SAVAGE MODEL 1899A TAKE DOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 303Sav. Standard rifle with 26” tapered round bbl, silver blade Rocky Mountain front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has uncheckered nicely figured wood with schnable tipped forearm and straight stock with crescent steel buttplate. SN 100347. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl retains 96-97% strong bright original blue with one or two tiny pinpoints of rust. The receiver and take down ring retain 95-96% high luster original bright blue. The lever retains 65-70% of fading case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas. Wood is sound and retains most of its original varnish with light handling and use marks with some alligatoring on the buttstock. Bright shiny bore. 4-49272 JR26 (1,000-1,500)
