PAINTED LEATHER FIRE BUCKET “W. F. S. SIDNEY G. EVANS 1_37”. Red body fire bucket has a black rim and handle with gold banners having black writing as follows “W.F.S. Instituted 1801 Sidney G. Evans 1_37”. This bucket we believe is either repainted or used as a presentation in 1937. Handle and rings attached. Found in the bucket is a tool purportedly used on a fire engine. PROVENANCE: Found on Orr’s Island, Maine. SIZE: 12-1/2″ h to top of rim. CONDITION: Some loss to paint through writing including the second digit in the date. Otherwise very good. 9-27871 (500-800)
