WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). Standard grade rifle with 24” round bbl, half-nickel front sight and semi buckhorn rear sight. It has uncheckered wood, straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. SN 10449. CONDITION: About fine, bbl retains about 85% original blue, thin on the sides above the forearm with scattered very fine light surface rust. Magazine tube retains about 90% thin blue with 3 or 4 spots of pitting above the band. The receiver retains 65-70% thin blue with the balance a silver patina. The lever retains 25-30% faded case colors with the balance silver and the hammer 75% dark case colors. Wood is sound with a repaired swivel hole in the stock, otherwise retains about 80% original varnish with light handling and use marks. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-49098 JR50 (1,000-1,500)
