OVAL CAST IRON TREE FIRE MARK. Raised tree and hollow back. This mark was used by the Mutual Assurance Co. for insuring houses from loss by fire, Philadelphia, PA. 1784-. This particular one is a variant of the 1810 issue. REFERENCE: “Footprints of Assurance by Bulau” page 34 No. 39. SIZE: 12-1/4” x 8-1/4”. CONDITION: Rusted, no paint. Good. 9-94931 (400-800)
