RARE EDISON PHONOGRAPH DOLL. 22” (56 cm). With head incised “S12H719DEP”. With brown black paperweight eyes, open mouth with teeth. Body consisting of wooden upper and lower arms and wood and composition legs, metal torso containing Edison patented mechanism. One winds a crank and turns the lever, she sings by way of a miniature cylinder record (1, 2 buckle my shoe 3, 4 shut the door, etc…) She wears her original antique honey colored human hair wig and comes with an antique white cotton dress and underwear as well as white shoes. CONDITION: Head very good. This is a rare opportunity to purchase an example with a working mechanism. Left thumb replaced and re-glued, slight paint wear. 1-4771 RS (4,000-5,000)
