FRANCESCO PELUSO (Italian, 1836-) MANDOLIN SERENADE. Fine oil on panel interior scene shows a red costumed young musician standing at tavern table. He stands in between young man and woman who sit at small benches. Young maiden clutches musicians arms as he serenades her. She wears blue and gold dress with white blouse. Signed lower right “F. Peleso”. Housed in its original gold gesso decorated frame. Back of panel has impressed oval mark. Also early consignment label to edge of frame. SIZE: 12-3/4” x 7-3/4”.
