UNSIGNED (American School, 19th Century) “RAILROAD SCENE, LITTLE FALLS, VALLEY OF THE MOHAWK”. Oil on metal panel shows an early steam powered locomotive pulling a passenger car filled with people beside a river with a waterfall lined with buildings. The landscape setting with trees, church spires, mountains and setting sun. A wonderful depiction of the railroad that went between Little Fall and Utica, New York. Housed in a replacement decorated gilt frame. Back with a Hirschl & Adler Galleries label. A title written on back of panel. SIZE: 13” x 16-3/4”. PROVENANCE: Rankin Estate, Annapolis, Maryland.
