RARE AND UNUSUAL CHINESE EXPORT CANTON PLANTER WITH MATCHING UNDERTRAY. Mid 19th C. Of octagonal form with flared rim. Sides painted in an Oriental landscape with a matching and conforming undertray decorated in blue and white scenic motif on bracket feet with a shaped apron. SIZE: 6-1/2″ h overall; Planter is 10-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: Ex-Collection of Matthew & Elizabeth Sharpe, PA. CONDITION: Very fine overall with nominal wear to glaze around edges and minimal glazing chips. 9-91417 (2,000-3,000)
