LOT OF THREE EARLY POWDER HORNS. 1) Large horn about 17”. The base plug with round pegs and an iron staple. Facet carved with scalloped edges in two places and carved decorations of stars, sun, and moon. – Extremely fine, wonderful mellow gold with greenish color dark toward the spout, no bug holes. 2) Scrimmed horn about 11” with wooden plug, brass stud and ring. The base end has about 1-1/4” of geometric patterns around the circumference. On the body is a wonderful clown figure in patched clothing holding a sign with the initials J.H.S., with more light geometric patterns. – Extremely fine, a beautiful dark mellow gold color, dark toward the spout. 3) A small middle-eastern horn with almost a 90 degree bend that is about 4” on each leg, the large end has a bone plug and horn spacer. The base has a silver band with gold wash and black enamel. It has a spring loaded long spout cover with gold damascening and brass hangers. – Very fine, a small piece of the silver band is missing, the horn is sound with fine old patina. 4-49319 JR311 (300-500)
