UNSIGNED (Italian, 19th Century) PORTRAIT OF THE SHIP “FAVOURITE”. Gouache on canvas scene shows the two-mast ship in full sail sailing left to right with an active Mt. Vesuvius in the background. A harbor is seen with point of land having needle-shape lighthouse. The ship is seen flying ship pennant and British flag. Housed in an antique oak frame with gold liner. SIZE: 21-3/4″ x 30-3/4″. CONDITION: Generally very good with three small punctures in upper left, some spots and light fading to left side. 9-91110 (4,000-6,000)
