ANTONIO DE SIMONE (Italian, 1851-1907) PORTRAIT OF THE “S.Y. NARADA”. Gouache ship portrait of the steam yacht Narada. Mahogany deck with white hull and is shown sailing left to right with full sails. A center stack spews smoke and there are a number of figures on deck. A US flag flies off stern and there are several sails on the horizon. Signed lower right and titled lower left. Housed in a black painted molded wood frame with matte. The ship is listed in the 1911 List of Merchant Vessels of the US as being built in Leith, Scotland with a home port of Baltimore, Maryland. SIZE: SIGHT: 15-1/4″ x 23-3/4″.
