DAHLGREN BAYONET FOR PLYMOUTH RIFLE. 12” single edge blade with 4” reverse. Marked “AMES MFG Co / CHICOPEE / MASS” on the left ricasso, “U.S N. / D R / 1863” on the right. The “DR” cartouche on the pommel is slightly defaced by file marks. The black leather scabbard has an unmarked brass throat and drag. CONDITION: Very good to fine with cleaning marks and light scattered pitting on the blade. The brass mountings are fine. Scabbard is bent in the middle with considerable loss of black finish but still solid. 4-49769 FS262 (1,100-2,200)
