CURRIER & IVES (Publisher, 19th Century) ETHAN ALLEN AND MATE AND DEXTER. Conningham checklist #1757. After a painting by J. Cameron, published by Currier & Ives and dated 1867. The title also included “In Their Wonderful Race, Over The Fashion Course, L.I. June 21st 1867” and having a number of other lines below. The large colored folio lithograph shows a two-horse skeleton wagon and a one-horse sulky in race. Housed in its original black ripple frame. SIGHT SIZE: 22-1/2” x 31”. CONDITION: Heavy foxing line at center, stains, tear in upper margin, unrestored. Strong colors. 9-73054 (750-1,250)
