FABULOUS LARGE DINNER SERVICE OF EARLY CREAMWARE BY WEDGWOOD. 19th Century. Approximately 134 pieces. Cream ground with border decoration of gilt feathered wreath style decoration bordered by two green lines. Finials have border decoration of green leaves. Impressed Wedgwood mark to base and marked “397” in green. Set consists of: forty-four 10” plates; thirty-four 8” plates; twenty-three 9-3/4” bowls; 20-1/2” x 15-3/4” platter; three 18-1/2” x 14” platters (one broken); two 16-1/2” x 12-1/2” platters (one large crack); 14-1/2” x 11” platter/underliner (under rim chips); 14” x 11” deep platter; two 16-1/2” dia. deep round trays with separate 13” round porcelain strainer; 13-1/2” dia. round tray with 10-1/2” strainer; two large double handled footed soup tureens with covers overall width is 15” x 10-1/2” h (one cover has crack); two 9-1/2” covered rectangular vegetables (one has discolored cracks); two diamond shaped 12-1/2” serving dishes with matching deep strainers (very small chip); two 11” x 4-1/2” trays with molded fish on bottom (discolored and repairs); two 8” handled gravy boats; three 7” covered sauce tureens (one repaired) with three 7” underliners; oval covered 5” dish with 7-1/4” underliner. CONDITION: As noted above. Plates and bowl have chips, stains and wear but generally are usable and good. 12-211 (3,000-5,000)
