EDWARD B. GAY (American, 1837-1928) SPRINGTIME IN THE ORCHARD. Oil on canvas springtime scene shows six sheep and two cattle resting under blossoming apple trees. Grass covered ground with dirt path through center. All under a light blue and white sky. Signed lower left “Edward Gay”. Housed in what appears to be its original gesso decorated frame with liner that has been painted gold. SIZE: 24” x 18”. CONDITION: Craquelure, minor inpainting, signature appears to be enhanced under blacklight. 9-72890 (3,000-5,000)
