Cancel tp with 1885 imprint date and 1884 copyright date verso; “Him and another man” cited p. 88; “with the was” p.57 11 lines from the bottom; p.283 a cancel; “l” missing on the first text line on p. 143 and the tablecloth clearly visible on the author bust at frontis as is the imprint of the Heliotype Printing Company. The engraving on page 283 appears to be a cancel and the third issue (please determine this point by examining the book). There is a rough tear on p. 155 with no loss to text but the page number is no longer present. Tear to upper corner of p.299 with no loss. Small tear to fore edge of half title and a stain to lower right of half title and occasional discoloration to half title. A far better copy than most of this High Spot of American literature.
