1851 SMITH’S TERRESTRIAL GLOBE ON FLOOR STAND. The lithograph paper covered globe setting in a fancy iron floor stand with lithograph horizontal center ring and brass meridian ring. The globe having a cartouche as follows: “Smith’s Terrestrial Globe containing the whole of the latest discoveries geographical improvements, also, the tracks of the most celebrated circumnavigators, London 1851 Smith & Son 172 Strand”. The stand having leaf decorated posts and three outstretching feet on caster feet, all painted black. SIZE: 18″ dia globe; 48″ h x 24″ at widest. CONDITION: Basically the globe is intact, it has an area of reglued paper. It is dirty and has repairs, tears and losses. 9-92209 (2,000-4,000)
