MATHIAS JOSEPH ALTEN (American, 1871-1938) LOADING THE BOAT. Oil on canvas scene shows two dark horses pulling a wagon next to green and red hulled boat. Man stands atop edge of boat retrieving items from cart. Boat appears to be at low tide with sandy beach and blue sky. Signature in lower right corner is hard to distinguish being black on black “M. Alten”. Housed in a fine carved gilt wood replacement frame. SIZE: 18” x 24”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94411 (4,000-6,000)
