CONVERTED SPENCER CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal .50. 22” round bbl. Converted late in the War to the newer type with Stabler cutoff and rounded edges at the top of the breech block opening. This one was refinished at the time of conversion and most of the marking on top of the receiver has been removed. SN 27389. CONDITION: 30% blue on bbl mixed with light surface rust and signs of cleaning. 50% casehardening colors on the hammer and right side of the frame, 30% on the left, lever and trigger plate. Wood has numerous dents, scratches and small gouges and has been coated with wax. There appears to be black paint on the rear sight. 4-49290 FS14 (1,750-2,500)
