LUIGI LOIR (French, 1845-1916) THE MIDNIGHT COACH RIDE. Oil on panel nocturnal scene shows coach with driver and two horses with bright coach lights. Another is following in distance. They are coming towards viewer with tree at center with people beside. Signed lower left “Loir Luigi 75”. Remnants of St. Louis Art Co. label on reverse. Housed in a fancy gilt decorated frame. SIZE: 10-1/2” x 15-3/4”. CONDITION: Restored horizontal crack with inpainting, otherwise very good. 9-95283 (8,000-12,000)
