FINE AND RARE WILLIAM AND MARY TRUMPET-LEG LOWBOY. Early 18th Century lowboy has a solid walnut top with large overhang. Two square drawers flank central rectangular drawer. Pine secondary wood. Cotter pin bail brasses with engraved plates. Nicely shaped skirt with applied molded edge having two drop pendants. Four trumpet carved legs supported by a shaped cross stretcher resting on four ball feet. PROVENANCE: From “Bohemia” Cecil County, Maryland. Former home of Louis McLane (Federalist and Jacksonian, 1784-1857). SIZE: 28-1/4” h x 21-1/2” d top size x 33” w. Case size is 17” d x 25-1/2” w.
