VERY EARLY ASH SAUSAGE TURNED SIDE CHAIR. Probably New Jersey, circa first half of the 18th Century. Sausage turned stiles terminating in turned finials support a shaped whale’s tail type crest supported by four sausage turned spindles. Replaced rush seat, double box stretcher, turned front legs. SIZE: 41-1/2″ h x 17-1/2″ seat height. CONDITION: Some worm damage to right front foot. Repair to crest, otherwise very good. 9-94336 (750-1,250)
