MAHOGANY INLAID FEDERAL KNIFE BOX. Chippendale style shaped front having an inlaid edge and nice graining. Slanted top with an oval inlay leaf design. Interior having a slotted grill with line and edge inlay. Inside of the lid with a two-color star inlay and decorative band. 19th Century. PROVENANCE: From a Camden, Maine Estate. SIZE: 13-3/4” h x 8-3/4” w x 7-1/2” d. CONDITION: Some minor imperfections including veneer chips, bead edge repair and wear, one coin silver spoon stuck inside. 9-72273 (800-1,200)
