IDENTIFIED BURNSIDE MODEL 1864 CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal .54. 21” round bbl. The breech block guide screw is an incorrect replacement. Springfield Research Internet site shows that this gun was issued to the 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry. Completely refinished. SN 4883. CONDITION: Retains about 50% of the old reblue with some light to moderate pitting. Wood was varnished over dents and gouges but appears to be solid. Action is slightly loose.
