SHARPS NEW MODEL 1859 NAVAL CARBINE. Cal .52. 22” round bbl. Standard markings on bbl, frame and lockplate. There is a faint outline of a cartouche on the left side of the stock. The Navy carbine did not have a sling ring bar but had a swivel in the bottom of the buttstock. The correct base is in place but the swivel has been replaced with a large ring. SN 43907. CONDITION: Gray brown patina overall mixed with light surface rust and pitting. There is a large scratch at the rear of the action on the left side of the stock and another to the rear of the swivel, other dents and scratches are minor but have been covered with wax. There are vise marks at rear of bbl. Action is good, bore has moderate pits. 4-49809 FS53 (2,000-3,000)
