PIETER VAN DE VELDE (Flemish, 1634-1687) “SHIPPING OFF PORT”. Large oil on canvas scene shows central large boat flying large red, white and blue flag with similar ship off port and stern. They approach a distant port with other sails, buildings all in a choppy sea. They round a tall rock tower flying a flag. Unsigned. Housed in a fine gesso decorated fancy replacement frame. PROVENANCE: Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Hawaii. SIZE: 37 “ x 63-1/2”. CONDITION: Relined, restored in very good condition. 9-95074 (15,000-20,000)
