HARPER’S FERRY MODEL 1855 RIFLE. Cal .58. 33” part oct bbl. Dated 1859 on the lock and bbl. “BM” and “JR” cartouches on the left side of the stock. The latter quite faint. The sight is missing from the patchbox, ramrod is a modern replacement. CONDITION: Rust brown patina overall with light to moderate surface rust and pitting, heavier on the buttplate. Wood shows normal handling marks but added varnish coat has been bubbled by heat in front of the lock. Lock is fine. 4-49622 FS91 (2,000-3,000)
