ROBBINS & LAWRENCE MODEL 1841 MISSISSIPPI RIFLE. Cal .54. 33” round bbl. No cartouche on the left side of the stock but the initials “JLB” have been stamped in that position. Dated 1847 on the lockplate and 1846 on bbl. The spare nipple remains in the patchbox. A name “..ITE. / SMITH” has been stamped inside the patchbox. The first letters are missing because of the well in the center of the matchbox. Possibly worthy of research. NSN. CONDITION: Very good to fine with 90% original brown on bbl. Lock and hammer have turned a spotty gray. Brass furniture has a mellow patina. Wood has a large scratch on each side at the wrist but is generally sharp. Lock is fine. 4-49734 FS151 (2,000-3,000)
