OUTSTANDING MAHOGANY AND ORMOLU MOUNTED CLASSICAL DAY BED. Fine mahogany veneers with great figuring. Curved end side rail/front with ormolu decorative mounts of women with pyre of fire. Ends have scroll tops with decorative scroll supports mounted with acanthus leaf and rose ormolu mounts. Half round applied decorative elements to lower legs with pineapple ormolu mount. Tapered round short feet. Ends have fabric panels to inside and outside. Canvas taped seat is support for long cushion and two pillows. Back side is undecorated and has remnants of an old label. Possibly of Russian origin. SIZE: 35-1/2” h x 73-3/4” l x 27-1/2” d. CONDITION: Very good. Upholstery is as is. 9-95817 (7,000-9,000)
