HARPER’S FERRY MODEL 1855 RIFLE MUSKET. Cal .58. 40” part oct bbl. “AMB” and “JAG” cartouches, the latter with a bruise. Dated 1861 on the tail of the lock. The date on bbl appears to be 1860 but it is in a patch of pitting and is unclear. There are vise marks at the rear of bbl and wrench marks on the tang. NSN. CONDITION: Heavy rust brown patina overall. Spare nipple remains in the patchbox. Wood has dents and gouges but is solid. Lock is fine. 4-49668 FS108 (1,000-1,500)
