REMINGTON ZOUAVE RIFLE. Cal .58. 33” round bbl. Dated 1863 on the lock and bbl. Sharp “HDJ” and “BH” cartouches on the left side of the stock. The left side of bbl is marked “STEEL B.H.” There is an additional “U.S.” stamped in front of the eagle on the lockplate. The spare nipple remains in the patchbox. NSN. CONDITION: Excellent with 98% blue on bbl and bright casehardening on the lockplate. Hammer has turned mostly dark. Wood is sharp with fine edges and only a few minor handling marks. 4-49776 FS42 (3,000-5,000)
