HARPERS FERRY MODEL 1855 RIFLE. .58 cal. w/ 33” part oct bbl. Iron-mounted. The ramrod is a replacement. The spare nipple remains in the patchbox. Lockplate and rear of bbl are dated 1861, although this lock is probably a replacement to this gun. No cartouche. CONDITION: Gray patina with light pitting on bbl and bands, heavier pitting on buttplate and patchbox. There are vise marks on the sides of bbl and heavy wrench marks on the tang, which has separated slightly from bbl. There are numerous issue marks on various parts. 4-49659 FS136 (1,000-2,000)
