HARPER’S FERRY MODEL 1841 MISSISSIPPI RIFLE. Cal .54. 33” round bbl. Dated 1849 on the tail of the lockplate and on bbl tang. The rear sight is a replacement. The nipple is missing from the patchbox. NSN. CONDITION: Smooth gray patina with vise marks and light pitting at the rear of bbl. Light surface rust and pitting on the lockplate and hammer. The brass furniture has been cleaned in the past but has now toned to a pleasant patina. There is a large gouge on the bottom left side of the buttstock, otherwise the wood is very good. 4-49870 FS32 (1,650-2,500)
