EARLY GALLAGER CARBINE. Cal .50. 20-3/4” round bbl. Marked “GALLAGER / PATENTED JULY 17th 1860 / 854” on the lockplate. The lever pivot screw is a replacement. SN 854. CONDITION: Metal surfaces cleaned to gray with scattered light pitting remaining. Wood has been repaired, sanded and varnished with short cracks remaining at the front lockplate screw. 4-49816 FS58 (1,500-2,250)
