STARR CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal .54. 22” round bbl. Standard markings on bbl, action and lockplate. A brass tag attached to the saddle ring identifies as being issued to Private George W. Beach along with associated equipment. Beach was in Co. C of the 1st Arkansas Cavalry, a Union unit. The issue is shown on page 99 of Vol. III of that unit’s issue records, now in the National Archives Record Group . SN 14767. CONDITION: Rust brown patina with light to moderate pitting overall. Bbl band is flattened on the left side. Wood is badly chipped and dented. Action is slightly sprung and difficult to close. 4-49806 FS114 (2,000-3,000)
