LOT OF 6 LIBERTY BELL CANDY CONTAINERS Includes bell with pewter screw-on closure, ca. 1876. Marked “Centennial Exposition” on one side, “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land” on the other. Embossed clapper on base. Lot also includes 3 Liberty Banks in amber (Var. A, no closure), blue (Var. B), and milk glass (Var. B). Tin closures marked “Robinson & Loeble, 723 Wharton St., Phila. PA.”. Lot also includes unlisted clear glass Liberty Bell with traces of gilt paint, marked “Lev. XXV-X Proclaim liberty through out the land and to all of the inhabants (not a typo) there of”. Three-dimensional hanger. No closure. Lot also includes unmarked, cobalt blue bell, no closure. SIZE: Largest is 4-1/2″ t x 4″ w. at widest point. CONDITION: Pewter topped bell has roughness under closure (otherwise near excellent), bank bells have various hairlines and minor chips around coin slot, otherwise lot averages very good. 1-29886 (300-500)
