GASPARD DUGHET (French, 1615-1675) PANORAMIC LANDSCAPE WITH CASTLE AND CITY. Oil on canvas laid on panel scene shows a castle walled city next to water with high mountain as backdrop. Three people are seen in central area, one with fishing pole. Other two in blue and red costumes walking. Foreground has cascading stream through rocks and woods. It appears in the background there is water in the distance. This may be a view along the Mediterranean. The canvas is mounted on a two heavy oak panels, one being 25” w. There is evidence of old labels on the back. Housed in a heavy molded wood black and gilt edged frame. Unsigned. Descriptive copy of old label affixed to back. SIZE: 33” h x 46-1/2” w.
