UNSIGNED (American, Mid 19th Century) ANCESTRAL PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN. Oil on canvas portrait shows a woman seated on a sofa with grayish/green background. She wears tight curled hair, a black dress with lace collar and cuffs. A large gold slide chain and two gold rings. At her neck is a large pink bow with rose decorated pin. Fine facial features. Housed in a gesso decorated frame which is most likely original, with damage. SIZE: 30-1/4” x 25”. CONDITION: Unrestored with chips and two small holes. 9-26931 (1,000-1,500)
