UNSIGNED (American, Mid 19th Century) PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG WOMAN. Oil on canvas ancestral portrait thought to be Sarah Coburn. She is seen seated in an armchair with red cloth on back and having a green curtain as backdrop. She wears a lace bonnet with lace collared and cuffed black dress. Housed in a gilt molded wood frame. SIZE: 36” x 28”. CONDITION: Relined. Right side has whitened varnish, in need of cleaning. Unknown restoration due to masking varnish. Otherwise very good. 9-26930 (1,500-3,000)
