FINE MASS ARMS CO. DRAGOON REVOLVER. Cal .41. 7” round bbl. Marked “MASS. ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS” on the top strap. “WESSON’S & LEAVITTS PATENT” on the lockplate. “LEAVITTS PATENT APRIL 29.1837” is marked on the back of the cylinder. The marking on the rotating ring is not readable. SN 251. CONDITION: Fine plus with about 65% blue on bbl, top strap and latch, very thin at the front of bbl and mixed with light pitting at the rear, 25% very thin blue on the cylinder and nearly gone on the grip straps. Casehardening colors are bright on the left side of the receiver and fairly good on the body of the hammer, but mostly gone elsewhere. Faint traces of gold remain on the trigger guard. Grips have dents on underside and a couple of chips, much of the original finish on grips. Action is fine. 4-49461 (7,000-9,000)
