GEROGE SMITH ARMFIELD (British, 1808-1893) FLUSHING THE PHEASANT. Oil on canvas scene shows three different colored spaniels scaring a ring neck pheasant out of bushes. The pheasant flies up and is seen against a patch of blue sky. Dense forest area with small clearing. Signed middle right “G. Armsfield”. Also signed on reverse on stretcher “George Armsfield, 1872”. Housed in a fine antique gesso decorated fancy gilt frame. SIZE: 18” x 24”. CONDITION: Very good, relined with some inpainting. 9-95437 (4,000-8,000)
