TWO PART QUEEN ANNE TWO PART HIGHBOY. The top section having cornice molding with a secret drawer; over two side by side drawers and three long graduated drawers. The bottom section having one long drawer over three side by side drawers. The central drawer having a carved sunburst fan carving, probably a later addition. A nicely carved skirt supported by cabriole legs ending in pad feet. 18th century. PROVENANCE: From a fine Bangor, Maine estate. Original family note dated 1908 indicates the highboy was from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. A later note dated 1964 indicates that the highboy was bought in 1908 by Mr. Edward March Moor of Bangor, Maine, who owned a hay and grain business there. Mr. Moor had a vast collection of antiques, including three hundred clocks. The house was kept intact until 1964. F.O.Bailey Co. of Portland, Maine sold the contents with the exception of this highboy and the block front desk also in this auction. SIZE: 67-1/2” h, base 36-1/2”w x 20-1/4”d, top case 34”w x 18-3/4”d. CONDITION: Refinished, replaced brasses, some old repair. Very good. 9-72727 (4,000-8,000)
