FRANCOIS B. DE BLOIS (American, 1829-1913) “D’HAYSON, FRANCE”. Large oil on canvas French farmyard scene shows multiple connected buildings forming dirt courtyard filled with chickens and ducks. Right side has tall haystacks. Buildings have thatched roofs and stucco sides. Signed lower left “B. de Blois D’Hayson 1878”. Housed in its outstanding original gilt gesso decorated frame. Titled on back of stretcher. Also “Art Club Exhibit 1878”. SIZE: 26” x 35”. CONDITION: Very good. One small patch with minor inpainting. 9-95806 (6,500-8,500)
