*WEATHERBY 23RD OLYMPIAD COMMEMORATIVE BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 257 W.M. Beautiful deluxe rifle with 24” tapered round bbl, made without sights, on a Mark V action, in Japan. The receiver is mounted with 2-pc bases and rings containing a 30mm Tasco Titan 3-9X scope. It is mounted in a beautifully grained 1-pc French walnut stock with rosewood foreend and grip caps and an original brown Weatherby waffle pad. It has gold-plated studs and sling swivels. The floorplate is engraved with foliate patterns and a ribbon bearing the legend “XXIII rd Olympiad-1984”. The right side of the buttstock is inlaid with a 3-1/4” gold-colored plaque stating that this is a licensed commemorative rifle of the 1984 Olympic Games, that it is 1 of 1,000 and it is licensed by the 1980 L.A. Olympic Committee. The bolt knob is checkered. SN OL-0886. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, retaining virtually all of its original factory finish to both metal and wood with a bruise and scratch on the left side of the stock, otherwise, in pristine condition.
