SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1847 ARTILLERY MUSKETOON. Cal .69. 26” round bbl. Dated 1854 on lockplate and 1855 on bbl tang. “WN” cartouche on left side of stock. This was originally made as a Sappers & Miners Musketoon but was altered by grinding off the lug on the right side of bbl, installing one on the bottom of bbl and replacing the front bbl band. The lug on the bottom of bbl is now missing. NSN. CONDITION: Very good to fine with smooth gray patina overall. Normal handling on the wood. Action is good. 4-49738 X67 (2,000-3,000)
