BRASS HINGED OVAL CONTINENTAL TOBACCO BOX. The top and bottom depict scenes from the Russo-Turkish Wars which started in Crimea and continued for over thirty years. The central scene shows two soldiers on horseback in battle. Side has soldiers on horseback and cannons in marching form. Written under scene is “Focxiani Den 20 Aug 1774”. The back side marked “Siege, Der Russen Uber Die Torgken” and has scenes of military exploits with identifying label. SIZE: 1-1/4” h x 6-1/2” w x 2” d. CONDITION: Generally good. One break and separation to corner of bottom. 9-25158 (1,000-2,000)
